Who needs this course?

The Construction Safety Induction(Work Safely in the Construction Industry) is mandatory for employers, self employed persons and workers doing construction work or removing asbestos materials. Delivery must be done by a registered training organisation. This course can be delivered face to face (4 hours) or via distance education.

Course outline

The course aims to provide basic health and safety education to all people working in the building and construction industry. Attendees will aquire knowledge of:

  • Legislative requirements and responsibilities
  • Basic concepts of Workplace Health & Safety plans and work method statements
  • Physical Building & construction hazards
  • Basic risk management concepts including hazard identification, assessment of risks, control of risks and evaluation of control measures.
  • Hierarchy of controls - eliminate, substitute, redesign, isolate, administrate and the use of personal protective equipment
  • Emergency Procedures

National accreditation

This program is nationally accredited as CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

Certificate

Upon competent completion of the course, the student will be issued with a laminated, nationally accredited CPCCOHS1001A OHS Construction Induction White Card and a Statement of Attainment.

Available by distance education

This course is designed to be delivered as a face-to-face training session or via Distance Education. The training is available from our website or alternatively, please contact one of our friendly staff to have a hard copy version sent out.

Distance education is a common choice for people who are unable to attend face to face training as a self paced course will benefit you if you are unable to take time off work, if you live in a remove area or require just flexibility with training requirements.
