Who needs this course? This course is aimed at people who work, or wish to work, as Workplace Health and Safety Officers at a workplace or construction workplace in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995.Organisation with 30 or more workers are required to appoint a Workplace Health and Safety Officer. This course is also suitable for Supervisors and Managers as they have a responsibility for workers and are required to understand the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995.
Course Outline:
Satisfy the requirements to qualify as a WHSO Identify and priorities construction hazards Complete an inspection/assessment report in accordance with best practice Make recommendations form findings of inspection/assessment report Assist relevant parties in the implementation of control measures Establish educational programs specific to construction industry on accordance with statutory requirements and best practice Review the effectiveness of educational programs
Competency Units: WHSO/04 – Manage Health and safety in Construction Workplace.
Prerequisite: Students must have received competency in the WHSO core module.
Duration: 4 days
Accreditation: This course is accredited with the Division of WHS. AT&SI works in partnership with Queensland Training Services for the delivery of this course.
