Who needs this course?


This course is aimed at people who work, or wish to work, as Workplace Health and Safety Officers at a workplace or construction workplace in accordance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995.Organisation with 30 or more workers are required to appoint a Workplace Health and Safety Officer. This course is also suitable for Supervisors and Managers as they have a responsibility for workers and are required to understand the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995.


Construction Health and SafetyCourse Outline:



  • Satisfy  the requirements to qualify as a WHSO

  • Identify and priorities construction hazards

  • Complete an inspection/assessment report in accordance with best practice

  • Make recommendations form findings of inspection/assessment report

  • Assist relevant parties in the implementation of control measures

  • Establish educational programs specific to construction industry on accordance with statutory requirements and best practice

  • Review the effectiveness of educational programs

WHSO/04 – Manage Health and safety in Construction Workplace.


Prerequisite:


Students must have received competency in the WHSO core module.
