Who needs this course?

This course is aimed specifically at people who are already qualified Workplace Health and Safety Officers and have held that qualification for the previous five years.
The Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 states that the WHSO certificate expires after 5 years and the Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 1997 states that it may be renewed after competently completing a re-certification course.

Course Outcomes:

This course is designed to enable participants who are current Workplace Health and Safety Officer’s to refresh and update their skills and knowledge of:

• Current Workplace Health and Safety legislation

• Recent legislative initiatives for Workplace Health & Safety

• Evaluate the purpose and consequences of enforceable matters

• The direction of workplace health and safety and potential impacts

• The key areas of the Workplace Health and Safety Officer’s course (Review)

Accreditation:

All students that demonstrate competency, will receive a Statement of Attainment, Workplace Health and Safety Officer- Re-certification (30523Qld), issued by Queensland Training Services.
